Dear future kids,
This is the story of how I met your father...
We were classmates in only one of our Masters subject in USJR. I was sitting in front of the class, he was sitting at the back. We barely spoke to each other and never had any amusing moments. That's how we met. Period. No chemistry, no flirtatious glances nor sexy smiles. Nope, zero. That's just how we met and it's not romantic at all. But wait, it gets better.
It was late 2011 when we both started teaching at the Psychology Department. We had different schedules and barely spoke and saw each other. We started casually texting as officemates, a tiny bit of improvement to our barely talking status.
Our closeness started during a karaoke session of Psych's Christmas party where we sang Weak by SWV. Ever since then, Harve and I communicated nonstop. We then went out together for the first time during February of 2012. We just chatted the whole night away and I felt butterflies in my stomach. I was smitten! For those who really know me, they know that I'm not the person who gets easily love-strucked. Harve is the only person who has the power to do that to me! He has this really deep manly sexy voice that can make you hold on to him word-for-word. Then he leans over you-just a breath away and whispers sweet nothings to your ear. He's poetic, he knows how to play with words and he even created poems for me. Lastly, he's incredibly intelligent and uses creative ways to make me swoon. Now how can I say no to him? So I said YES to him and we became officially a couple by April 28, 2012.
That was the best decision I ever made and I couldn't be any happier than I am now. Like all couples, we also went through really rough patches but became stronger as one in the end. I have found my PARTNER- we passionately support each other’s endeavors. I have found my BESTFRIEND- we can talk for hours in a day and we even gossip! I have found my BABY- Harve is so sweet and clingy. I love the way he giggles and he's cute and adorable when he laughs. I have found a good FATHER to be, he is very protective- mess with me and he will make your life hell. He pampers me and really takes good care of me. I am very lucky to have him and I can't wait to spend our lives together.

Dear future kids,
Several years ago, there was this mysterious woman sitting in front of our Master’s class. Outwardly, I took no notice of her, although I did notice her lovely hands, her smile, and how she silently kept to herself. I was awestruck but too shy to even say hello. I left it at that and just considered her as that quiet girl in class but little did I know, I became more and more enthralled but just kept it to myself. Months went by with nary a word.
I was a new lawyer then and had just engaged myself in the practice and work kept me busy. I couldn’t even remember that years ago, I had submitted an application for a teaching position at the College of Arts and Sciences. I suddenly received word that the university was looking for a teacher and they informed me about the opening. I then became a college instructor at the Department of Psychology.
Then there are those moments that the universe seems to conspire with the world, and lo and behold, I found myself in the same department as Kate. That couldn’t possibly be a coincidence. I never believe in coincidences. I even tried to delude myself that she was stalking me, but as it turned out, I was the one actually stalking her. I asked about her from our colleagues, and tried to make it as discreet as possible.
Then came the department Christmas Party, I thought she wouldn’t be there as she was still tied up with work, but we were sending each other text messages. I even offered to fetch her from IT Park. The hours rolled by, still no sign of Kate at the party. Suddenly, she opened the door, and there she was, wearing a purple blouse bringing cake. I too was wearing purple. This isn’t no coincidence at all. We chatted all through the party, and sang several songs together on the karaoke, and that was then, something more than just being enthralled hit me. I could feel it slowly spreading through my chest.
The evening went on until it was time to go, since it was rather late, I offered her a ride home. We were still talking about a lot of things, and the topic on creepy cab drivers came up when she said that at one time, a cabbie touched her cheek. Then with my right hand, I touched her cheek and asked her, “like this?” I guess she was a bit shocked when I did that. When we got to her home, I leaned over to give her a kiss on her cheek, I wanted to kiss her. I did, but just on the cheek. To this day, I would still wonder, had I kissed her, what would have happened. I bid her goodnight.
That started a long series of text messages, and chats, and finally, in February 2012, we went out on our first date. And no, we were not able to go on a date on Valentines day. I must have ate something because I chickened out in asking her out. Whoopsies.
We started as friends but became a couple. I find Kate a most wonderful woman. We could talk for hours on end, foregoing sleep. With each day that we talked, I got to know her more and more, and we became officially a couple on April 28, 2012 after what seemed like a whirlwind romance. Sometimes I kid her by saying that I slipped a love potion in her drink, but no. It’s not like that. I’m not one to use potions. Or voodoo. But Kate did give me a lock of her hair and I’ve kept it with me ever since. And no, I didn’t do any weird voodoo stuff with it.
I was once asked by Kate, “why do you love me?” I could tell her a litany of reasons to swipe her off her feet, to make her swoon with every word, but this is how I can best say how much I love her:

been mine too.”
And yet, I just simply cannot say it just like that, I have this propensity to be verbose, and how I do love her. I love Kate because the universe showed her to me, her name beats in my heart, and is on my lips. My soul feels her soul when we are apart, and how long have we been apart. We were apart for a while, the distance, the cruel winter of distance, and yet our love kept us warm. My love shall be that warm ray of light that warms us through the years to come.
Each day with her is wonder and with each passing day, our love grows more and more. Sure, we’ve had our ups and downs as what most couples go through. With us, the way we connect at a deeper level is one of the things I cherish most. There isn’t a day that I don’t tell her that I love her. There are more things that I can say about Kate, but I guess, you kids will have to wait to see it for yourselves.
The best part is yet to come. And that is you.
